Operating an agriculture business in today’s global marketplace requires strong entrepreneurial skills and a constant source of product, process and service innovation to remain competitive. Qualified businesses can tap into a wide range of services to accelerate their growth and increase their chances of long-term success.
About the BIPOC Microloan Accelerator Program:
Throughout the duration of the program, we will offer a comprehensive curriculum that blends in-person, virtual, and on-demand learning to cover a range of important topics. Participants will receive training that will help them improve their businesses' financial literacy and access microloans through HVADC's Agribusiness Loan Fund. The curriculum for the BIPOC Microloan Accelerator will combine virtual, in-person and on demand training, and will be conducted in-group, and one-on-one. Programming will address business planning, marketing, cash flow management, achieving loan readiness to access capital, operational and management skills, as well as mental and physical well-being.
Our experienced trainers include HVADC staff, HVADC Business Technical Assistance advisors, and members of the HVADC CDFI Advisory Group. With their expertise and guidance, participants will gain valuable insights and knowledge to support their entrepreneurial journey.
All entrepreneurs who successfully complete the program will receive a $5000 microloan, carrying a 1% interest rate and a 3-year term. The program's primary focus is to assist business of traditionally underserved populations in rural areas and provide access to capital, financial literacy programming, and business technical assistance to help businesses grow and become more sustainable.
BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other minority agribusiness entrepreneurs from the Hudson Valley counties of Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Rensselaer, Sullivan, Ulster and Washington are invited to apply to participate in the Accelerator.
